JAS Software, LLC was established to develop software for educational and therapeutic needs. The Focus Visual Motor Exercise (VME) concept was a joint venture between Joseph Hoff, owner of JAS Software, LLC, and Bernadette Luce, an occupational therapist with 20 years experience. The exercises found in the Focus VME applications were created by Mrs. Luce for use in her private practice. She had a desire for an alternative to paper/pencil activities and felt PC based exercises would be easily accessible to parents, for home use, and teachers, as "follow-up" in the classroom. Mrs. Luce approached JAS Software, LLC with the idea of developing the software application. Several years later, the concept became a reality, and Focus VME came to life. The image of a boy looking through his telescope symbolizes the therapeutic value of the software, and the ability to "Focus" and respond adaptively.
